Isle of Anglesey and Snowdonia

Our Anglesey and Snowdonia Tour provides a great contrast of coastal scenery with the magnificent mountain regions of the Snowdonia National Park. We’ll spend the morning on the island touring along the scenic Menai Straits. First up, we visit the town famous for the longest name in Wales, Britain and Europe – Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. The coastal views don’t come any better than our next stop where we stop on the Menai Straits to witness the spectacular setting of the bridges and the fishing isle with a spectacular backdrop setting of the Snowdonia Mountains. We take in the medieval history with a visit to Beaumaris Castle said to be the best castle that was designed in medieval times. Our lunch stop is set in a beautiful secluded bay on the island, with an 18th century waterside inn serving a great variety of dishes and light bites to suit all tastes. Then in the afternoon we take to the hills and mountains where we tour amongst the most magnificent mountain scenery. Our route takes us through the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. We have secret views and locations that present the most dramatic landscapes, starting with the secret view from the lakeside, then stopping off at the ‘Blade of the Giants’ and going onto discover a stunning local slate quarry with its lagoon. We will tour up into the mountains taking in three different scenic mountain passes and reach out along the most scenic road in Wales to view the summit of Mount Snowdon (distant views – subject to visibility) with one of the most scenic valleys panoramas in the whole of Wales. We then go onto tour along another dramatic glacial valley which is out of reach of the big tour buses. The landscape is breath taking as we follow a single-track road that was originally laid down by the Romans, passing through several sheep farms. There are several stops for photographs and even a chance to take a short walk amongst the most magnificent scenery of the Snowdonia National Park.
