TOUR ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

Our Classic North Wales Tour captures some of the best highlights of the North Wales area with a variety of interesting tour content.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
One of ‘the Wonders of Wales’ and a hidden gem. If you’ve got a head for heights, you can enjoy a walk across the ‘Stream in the Sky’ and witness some of the best scenic views in Wales! The aqueduct was built more than 200 years ago and is the highest and longest in Britain, standing at over 126 feet above the river Dee flowing below and stretching out across the valley at over a 1000 feet in length.
King Offas Dyke
Afterwards, witness the stunning views and panorama’s as we take you off road touring into the hills, high above the Dee valley floor. There’s the opportunity to get out and walk along the famous King Offas Dyke – the ancient 7th century border of Wales with England.
Llangollen
You can stop for a riverside lunch and visit the home of the famous ‘Ladies of Llangollen’. Perhaps you might like to step back in time and experience travel from a time gone by with a scenic ride on a steam train or the unique experience of a Horse Drawn Canal Cruise along a section of the UNESCO canal.
Betws-y-Coed
The tour also visits the Welsh towns of Betws-y-Coed, including a visit to a medieval church.
Llanwrst
You can take an afternoon tea at a beautiful riverside setting in a former medieval Courthouse.
Conwy
The medieval town walls of Conwy are claimed to be amongst the best preserved in Europe and you can still walk the walls and climb the Watchtower for that great view over the town. The town and castle are part of the UNESCO heritage site and dates back to the 13th century.

This tour can also be custom designed with alternative options. You might want to consider changing the outline tour itinerary. Just simply request to swap something in the current tour line up from the list below:

Rhug Chapel: Never judge a chapel, or a church for that matter, by its exterior. Step inside the chapel and be prepared to be wowed by its decorative flourishes complete with high church pretensions and a zany style to counter puritanical notions of the time.

The Snowdonia Secret View: Enjoy touring where the tour buses can’t go and where other tour guides don’t even know. We climb high into the hills to a spectacular isolated ridge high above the valley floor to witness ‘The Secret View’ – featuring a spectacular panorama of the Snowdonia National Park mountain peaks. (This is subject to clear visibility/weather on the day).

Please note that certain attractions have restricted operating and opening times.

Tour Testimonial and Endorsement

“Experiencing the beauty of North Wales”

One of the highlights of a recent two-week trip to England and Wales was our day with Boutique Tours of North Wales. John’s knowledge and love of North Wales - its people, history, culture and landscapes - is incredible and infectious. John was a fantastic guide who individualized our trip to take us to see and do the things we wanted, while maximizing our time with his knowledge of where to go, how to get there and, crucially, what time to arrive for peak enjoyment. We packed a lot into our day, but it never felt rushed; when we dawdled at spots, he adjusted the schedule and kept us on track. The ride in the van comfortably accommodated our family of two adults and three tall teenagers. John is a safe driver who skillfully navigated highways, one-lane mountain roads. We had a great experience and highly recommend Boutique Tours.
