We live here in North Wales and are very passionate about the region. You can take advantage of our local knowledge and expertise in touring and discovering the very best of the Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park with your local professional driver-guide.

During your tour, we will introduce you to our rich heritage of history, our amazing culture and capture the most scenic locations with an abundance of wonderful photographic locations.
Our Discover Snowdonia Tour takes you through a variety of glacial valleys and mountain passes, driving along the most beautiful picturesque roads, some of which are the old drover routes and touring on the most scenic road in Wales, as we climb up and around Mount Snowdon.

We will also show you the very best places from historic Welsh castles, pretty riverside villages, scenic lakes, streams, waterfalls and mountain passes. We will also take you to visit the UNESCO slate mine landscapes and we can even include a short walk or two during your touring day to help you capture the real atmosphere of the Snowdonia National Park

The options below provide you with a choice of places to see and things to do during your touring day with us. We will work with you to design the perfect custom tailor made tour around your personal preferences and choices.

Glacial Valley of the Sheep Farms

We tour a beautiful glacial valley along a trail that was originally laid down by the Romans. There are several stops for photographs and even a chance to take a short walk amongst the most magnificent scenery of the Snowdonia National Park.

The Ugly House

A unique building with a very interesting folk legend and an ideal place to stop for tea/coffee and some delicious home baked scones!

Swallow Falls

Enjoy one of the most scenic and stunning waterfalls in Wales.

Formerly the slate capital of Wales, famous as being the town that roofed the world. You’ll witness the small terrace homes of the close-knit Welsh community.
There is an opportunity to take a walk into one of the more remote slate communities – one of our hidden gems of touring this region, where beauty and tranquillity meets Victorian industrial enterprise

The Ffestiniog Railway

Take a ride on one of the ‘Great Little Steam Trains of Wales’ operated by the oldest railway company in the world!
*Train tickets can be pre booked online. Please check with us about the relevant train that we can rendezvous with.

Beddgelert

One of the prettiest villages in Wales, where we set you down for a stunning riverside walk. The village is set amongst some of the most majestic scenery that Wales has to offer. Located where two rivers meet, the village features a cluster of miner’s stone cottages. Learn about the legend of ‘Great Prince of Wales’ who used to hunt in the area and sample some of the best ice cream in Wales at the local parlour.

The Most Scenic Road in Wales

Our tour takes us along one of the most scenic roads in Wales, passing glacial lakes and streams as we climb high into the Snowdonia mountains along three different mountain passes. We make several stops to capture the spectacular scenic landscapes of Snowdonia.

Mount Snowdon

We stop on an elevated platform to view the highest Mountain in Wales at 3,560 feet above sea level. The landscape of mountain and glacial valleys is a photographer’s paradise.

The National Slate Museum

Enjoy a fascinating insight into the industrial world of slate production, witnessing a live Slate splitting demonstration and visit former homes of quarrymen.

Dolbadarn Castle

A castle ruin of the Welsh Princes located in a stunning scenic setting between two lakes. This stop involves a walk up a very steep hill to reach the castle.

Blade of the Giants

Enjoy this stunning lakeside setting with the ‘Sword in the Stone’.
We have many Arthurian legends in the mountains and the Sword in Stone provides a link to one of the great stories of the region, with Excalibur being thrown back to the lady of the lake.

The Secret View

A beautiful lakeside setting. We call it the secret view as it’s out of sight to everyone passing along the two main roads nearby, yet we open up an amazing vista of a glacial lake and the Snowdonia Mountains.

Time permitting, these are two options
that come up towards the end of the touring day.

Quarrymans ‘Slate’ Villages of the Hills

We tour through the UNESCO slate landscapes, passing by several small remote villages, where life was simple and homes were very basic. Learn of stories of hardship, loyalty and life working for the industrial lords – owners of the great slate quarries.

Time permitting, these are two options
that come up towards the end of the touring day.

Walk the UNESCO Slate Mountain Landscapes

Take a panoramic walk half way up a Slate Mountain onto the working levels and experience some of the best views of the day!

This short walk is around 45 minutes in duration and is fairly gentle in the slope, walking on cut rock tracks, with uneven surfaces.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway

Snowdon Mountain Railway: Take the easy way up to the summit. On a beautiful day, this has to be one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world! You will need to allow 3 hours of your touring day to include this railway option. The trains journey is an hour each way, with 30 minutes at the summit and offers you a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the beautiful National Park.  (Trains operate from mid-May up until the end of October (weather permitting).

If you want to book this tour option, you are responsible for booking your own reservations for the mountain train.  Please check with us directly before booking, so that we can co-ordinate our availability and advise you on the best times to book your train.
