A spectacular start to the day features a coastal drive out onto the Great Orme Headland above the resort town of Llandudno. Nearby, we go onto visit the picturesque medieval walled town of Conwy with its commanding 13th century castle.
Heading out into the valley, Bodnant Gardens, is rated as one of the best and most beautiful landscaped gardens in the whole of Great Britain and hidden amongst the forest of the Conwy valley is one of the best private potteries in Wales.
At Trefriw there’s the famous traditional Woollen Mill and one of the most photographed locations in Wales comes up at Llanrwst. Hidden amongst the Gwydir forest to our ‘secret lake’.
At Gwydir Castle, you can discover one of the finest fortified Tudor manor houses in Wales. and nearby, you can discover a very traditional and scenic Welsh town that nearly became the capital of Wales. We also stop in the popular tourist village of Betws-y-Coed, where we uncover the local lore and culture of Wales. Nearby, we can stop off at one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Wales, or how about a visit to the unusual Ugly House.
To round off this great touring day, we visit a beautiful Quintessential Welsh Village and the finale of the touring day (subject to the visibility) is our famous ‘secret view of Snowdonia’.
A spectacular drive on the Creuddyn peninsula, to the summit of the Great Orme for commanding views across Conwy Bay to the Snowdonia Hills and the Isle of Anglesey. The Marine Drive runs around the outer edges of the headland, with the road cut into the limestone cliff face.
THE MEDIEVAL WALLED TOWN OF CONWY
Enjoy a walk around the medieval town walls of Conwy – which are acclaimed to be the best-preserved in Europe. Alternatively, you can choose to visit the 13th century castle. We normally allow an hour for the visit and tour. *Entrance fee applies.
Rated as one of the best gardens to visit in Great Britain, Bodnant Gardens spreads out across 80 acres of hillside and includes one the finest rose gardens in Wales, set amongst five formal Italianate terraces. We normally allow between 90 minutes and 2 hours on site for the visit. *Entrance fee applies.
Hidden in the woods there is a lovely home built cottage renovated by the potter and her husband. Rated as one of the best private potteries in Wales, there is an opportunity to visit their workshop and studio/shop
THE SECRET LAKE
Single track road touring takes us through a forest and past local farms. Where you will get to discover a secluded glacial lake in a hanging valley, which is classed as one of the most beautiful lakes in Wales, set in a stunning tranquil location. You might even want to stop to take a walk of this stunning area (approximately 90 minutes).
One of the few remaining working woollen mills of Wales. Discover the process as the fleece is sheared from the back of the sheep, right through the process to creating wool as a textile, through the weaving techniques used on the mills own dobcross looms.

A hidden gem of North Wales, Gwydir Castle is a privately owned fortified castle home, regarded as one of the finest in Wales. It’s also famous for its peacocks that roam in the grounds.

The famous chocolate box photo stop with one of the most photographed buildings in Wales. The former 15th century medieval courthouse is situated on the banks of the river Conwy and nestles beside a 600 year old three arched bridge. Today it doubles as one of the great ‘Tea Rooms’ of Wales.
Subject to clear visibility/weather on the day, enjoy a drive along the real back roads of Wales, where ‘drover’s’ would herb the cattle and sheep, as we climb to a spectacular ridge set high above the Conwy Valley floor to witness a stunning panorama of the Snowdonia National Park mountain peaks.
An authentic historic and iconic Welsh village, located in the hills, around a cross roads of ancient drover’s routes on the banks of the upper river Conwy, where there is an iconic ancestral link to a famous American President.
BETWS-Y-COED
A picturesque Victorian spa resort town set between two rivers, where we will introduce you to the local culture of Wales. Discover the 14th century church hidden in the woods, nestling beside the scenic river Conwy. Or maybe choose to spend some time browsing the local shops.
Enjoy one of the most scenic and stunning waterfalls in Wales. The river Llugwy flows through a narrow chasm, creating a spectacular drop with the water. The falls can be viewed from a location above the river and for the more energetic there are steps leading down to a platform which goes out into the river in the gorge. *Entrance fee applies.
The Ugly House
Shrouded in mystery, Ty Hyll (the Ugly House with its origins allegedly dating back to 1475, when two brothers built themselves a hideaway in the Snowdonia forest and carving the date over the fireplace.
Today the house is in the ownership of local charity the Snowdonia Society, and is run as a little cosy cottage tearoom. This unique building with a very interesting folk legend and an ideal place to stop for refreshments, or a light lunch or a unique Welsh Afternoon Tea.
The Ugly House is famous for it’s delicious Scones, and why not sample a traditional Welsh Afternoon Tea with Barabrith and freshly griddled Welshcakes. Alternatively why not sample a real ‘Taste of Wales’ with one of the nations specialities, a traditional Welsh Rarebit! You can also choose from homemade soup, sandwiches, quiches, along with freshly baked cakes
